the Desert and the Sea The Eastern Desert of Egypt is bounded on the north by the Nile Delta and on the south by the Sudan border. On the west it meets the Nile Valley, while the whole east coast extends north to south along the Red Sea, a deep narrow trough about 1932km long, separating Africa from Asia.
